Experiencing Orlando: A weekend escape

Updated: Jun 23, 2023

Welcome to Orlando, the city that is filled with adventure and excitement! Thanks to Michael (Kevin's cousin) for taking us around. We had an amazing 2 days.

DAY 1:

Well, this was a business trip for us. Our main objective was to find a property manager for our new property in Orlando. We had scheduled a meeting with Marc and were excited to discuss our plans with him.

FYI - Our property is 15 mins from DISNEY & UNIVERSAL STUDIOS. If anyone is looking for a place to rent in Orlando, let me know :)

Sofrito's Latin Cafe

We stumbled upon Sofrito's Latin Cafe, which promised authentic Latin American flavors. We headed there for brunch, and the moment we walked in, we were greeted with vibrant decor, and a welcoming atmosphere.

The menu had an extensive list of Latin American dishes, ranging from Puerto Rican mofongo to Colombian arepas. We were spoiled for choice, but we finally decided on trying their famous Peruvian Pollo Al Horno, Venezuelan empanadas and the Cuban coffee.

Total Brunch Cost - $70

Our new property

We were so excited to see our new investment property in person and celebrated with a bottle of champagne.

New Home celebration

Celebration Town Center

Our property manager suggested a visit to the charming Celebration town center, which boasts a variety of unique shops and restaurants.

DISNEY Springs

Disney Springs is a captivating destination that seamlessly combines world-class shopping, delectable dining, and captivating entertainment. However, everything is expensive. I suggest you get all the Disney merchandise from a nearby Walmart.

Wear comfortable shoes as there is going to be a lot of walking.

Day 2:

Universal CityWalk

The dynamic entertainment hub that offers a blend of dining, shopping, live performances, and cinematic experiences.

We went to this famous "Voodoo doughnut" store. I got a donut for $5 and that was the worst donut I ever had in my life.

This section is for people wondering why I have different spellings.

The term "donut" is a simplified and more informal spelling that gained popularity in the United States. The shortened spelling "donut" has become widely recognized and used in American English.

Orlando International Airport - Club Lounge

Whenever I travel with Kevin, I get to access most of the airport lounges.

The MCO Club lounge has these following amenities:

- Complimentary snacks & beverages*

- Digital Food & Beverage Ordering

- Comfortable, spacious seating

- Workstation with PC & printer

- TV Channels & flight info

- Complimentary shower facility

- Complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi

- Digital newspapers & magazines

I didn't see the QR code on the table to order food until the last minute, so got to eat only the fruits and appetizers. :(

I am planning to write another blog on how we can access airport lounges. Stay tuned.

Bye Orlando!

Ok - its 1:00 am - I am logging off!
